Our Story
Veterinary Specialist Partners (VSP) is a board-certified specialty veterinary hospital founded in 2018 by Dr. Grace Clark, DVM, DACVIM, and Dr. Scott Rizzo, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM), MBA.
Drs. Clark and Rizzo are two board-certified veterinary internal medicine specialists who set out to bring advanced, hospital-level specialty care to Kentucky and Southern Indiana without losing the independence and personal attention of an independently owned practice.
Veterinary Specialist Partners (VSP) is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, where we provide specialty internal medicine, urgent veterinary care, endoscopy, interventional radiology, CT imaging, I 131 therapy for feline hyperthyroidism, laser lithotripsy, ureteral stenting, and feeding tube placement. Our secondary location in Evansville, Indiana, focuses on specialty internal medicine for pets with complex health conditions and does not currently offer urgent care. As Kentucky’s only provider of I-131 treatment for cats, VSP gives primary care veterinarians a trusted specialty partner for complex medical cases, urgent conditions, advanced diagnostics, and interventional procedures that require expertise beyond general practice.
Board certification in veterinary internal medicine is earned only after a multi-year residency and rigorous examination process. Drs. Clark and Rizzo are among fewer than 3,800 ACVIM board-certified diplomates worldwide across all six recognized specialties – and among a limited number practicing in the Louisville and Southern Indiana regions. Their leadership drives VSP’s collaborative model, combining internal medicine, interventional procedures, cancer care, surgery, and urgent care under one roof, built to support, not replace, the primary care veterinarians who refer us.

Our team provides clear updates throughout your pet’s care, with medical records emailed within 24 hours of each visit.
