Our Story
Veterinary Specialist Partners (VSP) is a specialty veterinary hospital founded in 2018 by board-certified internists Dr. Grace Clark and Dr. Scott Rizzo.
With locations in Louisville, KY and Evansville, IN, we focus on advanced medical care—supporting primary care veterinarians by managing complex cases and urgent conditions that go beyond the scope of general practice.
As two of only a few board-certified veterinary internists in the Louisville region—and among just 2,800 nationwide—Drs. Clark and Rizzo bring exceptional expertise to every case. Their leadership drives our collaborative model, combining specialty medicine, interventional procedures, cancer care, surgery, and urgent care under one roof.
Whether you’re navigating a complex diagnosis or facing an urgent situation, we’re here to help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
We can help.
What Makes VSP
{Different}
Veterinary Specialist Partners is one of the region’s top centers for advanced veterinary care—home to the largest veterinary cancer care center in the area and the only iodine (I-131) radiation therapy service in Kentucky. Our urgent and specialty services are directly supported by board-certified specialists, allowing for faster diagnoses, more effective treatments, and better outcomes for pets who need us most.

One Team. One Goal. Healthier Pets.
At Veterinary Specialist Partners, every patient benefits from a unified team approach. Our specialists, urgent care doctors, and support staff share one goal: restoring your pet’s health with efficiency, compassion, and expert care. With open communication and shared expertise across services, we ensure no detail is missed and every pet receives the continuity of care they deserve.

Advanced Minimally
Invasive Treatments
At VSP, Dr. Clark and Dr. Rizzo offer advanced procedures that help pets heal with less pain, fewer risks, and quicker recovery. These minimally invasive options—like endoscopy, bladder stone removal (ex. PCCL), urethral stenting, and treatments for parathyroid conditions—allow us to treat complex health problems in a gentler, safer way for your pet.
