What it is:

We accept CareCredit, a healthcare credit card designed specifically for medical expenses—including veterinary care. It allows you to pay for services and products over time, with easy monthly payments that fit your budget.

How it works:

At VSP, purchases of $200 or more qualify for 6 months of promotional financing with no interest, as long as the balance is paid in full within the promotional period.

What it is:

Scratchpay is a flexible loan service—not a credit card—crafted specifically for veterinary care. It lets you break costs into manageable payment plans without affecting your credit score just to apply.

How it works:

• Apply on your phone or computer in under two minutes—types of plans include bi‑weekly (e.g. Take 5 with 20% down + four payments), and 6, 12, 18, or 24 monthly options.

• Plans support treatment costs from $200 up to $10,000, with terms ranging from 0% APR (for select short-term or strong credit plans) to rates based on credit profile.

• No hidden fees, no prepayment penalties, and no retroactive interest.

What it is:

Trupanion offers a robust accident & illness pet insurance plan with no annual or lifetime payout caps. Designed to protect your pet from unexpected health issues, it’s especially helpful when advanced or specialty care is needed.

How it works:

• Covers a wide range of conditions—new illnesses, injuries, hereditary and congenital diseases, and even unidentified issues.

• Offers VetDirect Pay™, so Trupanion can pay VSP directly at checkout (where supported), reducing out‑of‑pocket delays.

• Typically reimburses 90% of eligible costs (after deductible); no hidden caps or escalating limits—ever.

Frequently Asked {Questions}

Which financing option is right for me?

That depends on your individual situation, but either way, we’re here to help guide you to the right decision for your furry family! When you come in for your specialty appointment or urgent care visit, we will explore all of your options and eligibility with you.

We’ll provide a clear estimate after your pet’s initial exam, once our team understands what diagnostics or treatments may be needed. This helps make sure your estimate is accurate and tailored to what will best help your pet feel better.

Yes – we work with most pet insurance providers, which typically reimburse you after your visit. Trupanion is an exception to that standard, as it allows direct payment to us depending on your plan.

We’ll make sure you know what to expect with billing throughout your pet’s visit. In most cases, you’ll receive your final invoice at the time of discharge, once your pet is ready to go home. In some cases, a deposit may be required during care.
